CBD: How effective can it be?

CBD: How effective can it be? That’s a question a lot of people ask us as more and more people with health issues are turning to cannabidiol (CBD) in various forms for a natural solution to the stresses in their daily lives.

Over the past few years CBD has entered the world’s consciousness as a product that should be considered as part of our daily wellness regimen. The health community in particular has shown how CBD may help people deal with a multitude of health-related issues. Although we are not permitted to make specific medical claims, the media has widely reported on a growing number of cases where individuals have benefited from CBD and whose quality of life has improved as a direct result of taking it.

The phenomena that is CBD is here to stay!

Cannabis plants contain over 100 different cannabinoids, each with a unique effect on the body, and these cannabinoids have been found to be abundant in different parts of the plant.  CBD (Cannabidiol) and THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) are undoubtedly the most well-known of these.  Enjoy CBD does not sell any CBD products that contain illegal levels of THC, the compound that gets you high. Although full spectrum CBD oils contain trace amounts of THC, the levels are so low that they fall well within Government Guidelines and the Food Standards Agency (FSA), as CBD is sold in the UK as a food supplement.

CBD: How effective can it be?

Don’t assume that the absence of a psychoactive or intoxicating effect means that nothing is happening.  On the contrary, it is abundantly clear that many chemical reactions occur when CBD binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain.  The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a vast communication network made up of cannabis-like chemicals known as endocannabinoids – and receptor sites found in all cells in our bodies.  It is known as a homeostatic regulator, which means that its primary function is to keep our bodies and minds in balance.

All of the CBD products sold by Enjoy CBD online are made from industrial hemp, which can be grown legally in the UK because it is a strain of the cannabis plant with negligible THC but high levels of other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids (antioxidants). Flavonoids are a diverse group of phytonutrients or plant chemicals found in a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including onions, tea, strawberries, kale, grapes, Brussels sprouts, citrus fruit and parsley etc.

So it is easy to understand why people are so enthusiastic about our CBD products. In addition to being made from organic CBD, our CBD products retain all of the other cannabinoids, terpenes and nutrients found in the hemp plants. Enjoy CBD Premium CBD oils, for example, are made entirely of organic hemp seed oil.  Other CBD oil products may also include MCT cold pressed olive oil or coconut oil, both of which are high in antioxidants and are linked to skin protection and healthy whole body function.  CBD oils are sold as food supplements in the United Kingdom.

CBD: Advocates consider it a healthy option, but what evidence is there?

In 2008 there was a CBD review published in the Dove Press (open access to scientific research) – read the article www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2503660/
